Why we built this

Most online image tools work the same way: you upload your file to a server, the server processes it, and you download the result. That means every photo — including personal documents, ID cards, and private pictures — passes through a company's servers before you get it back.

PixelPress does the same job differently. Every tool on this site runs entirely inside your browser using standard web technology. Your file never leaves your device. There is no upload step, because there is no server involved at all.

What that means in practice

When you convert a PNG to WebP, compress a photo, or resize an image on PixelPress, the work happens on your phone or computer using its own processing power. This is also why the tools feel instant — there's no waiting for a file to travel across the internet and back.

Why it's free

Because there are no servers processing your files, there are no server costs tied to how much you use the site. That's what lets us offer every tool for free, with no daily limits and no account required.
